Gluten-Free Travel Planning, Done for You

Every great trip starts with - someone who’s already done the research

For the ones who’ve hesitated to book a trip

Travel has a way of feeling impossible before it feels inevitable.

The what-ifs stack up. The restaurant questions multiply. The idea of navigating an unfamiliar kitchen in a foreign country — in a language you don't speak — can quietly talk you out of a trip you've been dreaming about for years.

We created Parea for exactly that moment.

Whether you're living with celiac disease, traveling with someone who is, or simply tired of food anxiety being the loudest voice in your travel planning — this is where that changes.

We specialize in slow, immersive travel through destinations where gluten-free dining can be navigated with confidence. Italy. Spain. Amsterdam. Greece. Portugal. Places worth going — and places we know well.

The research is done. The restaurants are vetted. The plan is ready.

You just have to decide to go.

Your Itinerary Takes Shape

We research, plan, and curate a complete trip proposal — hotels, restaurants, routes, experiences — all gluten-free–safe and tailored to your travel style

We Connect

After your quiz, we'll reach out to learn more about your trip — destination, timing, group size, dietary needs, and what you're hoping to experience. This conversation is the foundation of everything we build.

You Travel Confidently

With your full trip package in hand and on-trip support available, you arrive ready to explore. No second-guessing. No stressful restaurant roulette. Just the trip.

A note on planning fees

Parea + Co. charges a planning fee to begin the itinerary process. This covers the research, restaurant vetting, and personalized planning that goes into every trip we design.

For travel to our current destinations the planning fee is $250 per couple, paid upfront. For custom destinations, the fee is $500 per couple. Group pricing is available; details are in our FAQ.

Hotels, transfers, regional transportation, and experiences are booked at the same rates you'd find directly — and in many cases, through preferred partnerships that include added value unavailable elsewhere. Travel suppliers — not travelers — compensate Parea + Co. after travel is completed. You receive expert, dedicated planning at no hidden cost.

Frequently Asked Questions About Gluten-Free Travel Planning

  • Parea + Co. is a gluten-free travel advisory based on a simple idea: prepared travelers travel confidently. We design intentional, carefully researched trips for celiac and gluten-free travelers — and the people who travel with them. Every restaurant, hotel, and experience in your itinerary has been vetted for gluten-free safety before it reaches you.

  • We specialize in gluten-free and celiac-safe travel, and that's where our research runs deepest. But we plan for any traveler who values thoughtful, well-researched itineraries. If you're traveling with someone who has celiac disease — or simply want a trip where the food logistics are already handled — you're exactly who we're here for.

  • That's actually where Parea began. One of us has celiac disease. The other does the research. We understand this dynamic from the inside — the planner who wants to find great food for everyone, and the traveler who needs to feel genuinely safe, not just accommodated. Everything we build serves both people at the table.

  • Our current focus is Western Europe and Central America — Amsterdam, Rome, Sicily, and a growing list of Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, and Costa Rican destinations. We go deep on each city before we add it: building restaurant databases, vetting kitchens, researching neighborhoods, and understanding the local food culture before we recommend anything. We'd rather know a destination well than cover every destination lightly.

  • Not at this stage. Every trip we plan is private — the only travelers on your itinerary are you and the people you choose to travel with. Your pace, your restaurants, your days. We may introduce small-group experiences in the future, but private planning is the Parea model.

  • It starts with our Travel Style Assessment — a short quiz that helps us understand how you like to travel, your pace, your priorities, and your comfort level. From there, we reach out to learn more about your trip: destination, timing, group size, and what you're hoping to experience. We build your itinerary from there — hotels, restaurants, routes, transfers, and experiences — all researched and coordinated into a plan you can travel with confidently.

  • Always. Every itinerary we present is a starting point, not a fixed package. We build from your travel style, your pace, and your priorities — and we refine from there. If something doesn't feel right, we adjust it. The goal is a trip that actually feels like you.

  • Yes — and this is one of the genuine advantages of working with a professional travel advisor rather than booking on your own.

Through our industry affiliations, clients who book with Parea + Co. have access to exclusive benefits at thousands of properties worldwide — including complimentary breakfast, room upgrades, hotel credits, early check-in, late check-out, and VIP recognition at arrival. These are perks that aren't available when booking directly through a hotel's website or through an online travel platform, and they come at no additional cost to you. You pay the same rate you'd find anywhere else.

Our supplier relationships span more than 8,000 hotels and travel providers globally, including some of the most respected names in luxury and boutique travel. When we recommend a property, we're not just curating based on research — we're also ensuring that your stay comes with the kind of treatment that makes a real difference on the ground.

For gluten-free travelers, this access matters in a specific way: we can communicate your dietary needs directly through professional channels before you arrive, so the conversation about celiac safety starts well before you check in.

  • Our planning fee depends on the destination and the scope of your trip.

For travel to our current destinations where our research is already deep and our restaurant vetting is current, the planning fee is $250 per couple, paid upfront. Groups traveling beyond two people are charged an additional $50 per couple.

For custom destinations outside our current library, the planning fee is $500 per couple, paid upfront, reflecting the additional research and destination preparation involved. Groups are charged an additional $100 per couple beyond the first two travelers.

Beyond the planning fee, your travel costs — hotels, transfers, regional transportation, and experiences — are priced at the same rates you'd find booking directly. In many cases, our preferred partnerships include added value that isn't available independently. Travel suppliers compensate us after your trip is completed. You pay for the planning. The expertise travels with you at no additional cost.

  • We charge a planning fee at the start of the process. Beyond that, we're compensated by travel suppliers — hotels, tour operators, and experience providers — after your travel is completed. This is the standard model across the travel advisory industry, and it means you receive expert planning at no added cost. Your bookings are processed directly through suppliers, not through us. Pricing is transparent, and we don't benefit from steering you toward any particular option.

  • Yes. A planning fee is charged at the start of the process, before we begin building your itinerary. This covers the research, restaurant vetting, and personalized planning that goes into every trip — and it's how we ensure every itinerary gets the attention it deserves from the start.

  • No. Most travelers prefer to arrange their own international flights — whether to use frequent flyer miles, points, or preferred airlines. Once you arrive at your destination, everything else is coordinated: transfers, regional transportation, accommodation, restaurants, and experiences. If you'd like guidance on flight routing or timing, we're happy to help with that conversation.

  • Carefully, and differently for each destination. We research individual restaurants — not just whether they offer gluten-free options, but how their kitchens operate, whether staff understand cross-contamination, and what the real risk level is. We use a confidence system across all of our recommendations so you know exactly what you're walking into. You'll also travel with destination-specific translation cards and dining notes so you're never navigating a language barrier unprepared.

  • In most cases, no — and that's intentional. We work with local guides who are residents of the areas they show you. Someone who knows a neighborhood intimately is a better guide than someone who knows every neighborhood adequately. Where guides change between cities or regions, the quality and the briefing remains consistent — they'll know your needs, including your dietary requirements, before you meet them.

  • Included: personalized itinerary design, vetted hotel recommendations, gluten-free restaurant research and dining notes, transfers, regional transportation, experiences, translation cards, and WhatsApp support while you travel.

Not included: international airfare, travel insurance, visa fees, and personal expenses. Meals are generally not included beyond what's provided by your accommodation — we've found that travelers want the freedom to discover restaurants on their own terms, with our research as their guide rather than a fixed dining schedule.

  • We don't process visas directly, but we'll make sure you know exactly what's required for your destination well before your departure date. Entry requirements, processing timelines, and any documentation specific to your itinerary — that information is part of your pre-departure package. For complex visa situations, we can point you toward the right resources.

  • We strongly recommend travel insurance for every trip, particularly for travelers with medical dietary needs. We don't sell insurance directly, but we can point you toward reputable providers and help you understand what to look for in a policy — including coverage for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and pre-existing conditions.

  • Yes. We produce destination city guides, translation cards, and digital travel tools for gluten-free travelers who want to navigate independently. Our Amsterdam guide — the first in the Parea library — is available as a digital download. More destinations are in development. If you're not ready for full advisory services, these are a good place to start.

  • We're available via WhatsApp for the duration of your trip. If a restaurant falls through, a booking needs to change, or something unexpected comes up, you're not navigating it alone. Part of traveling confidently is knowing there's someone in your corner if the plan needs to adapt.
